At The Spa, we know that nothing goes better with Valentine’s Day than chocolate, so while supplies last, we are offering 3 chocolate-infused services.

Our Chocolate Pedicure is the perfect indulgence for your feet, offering a full length Signature Pedicure with the added benefit of the wonderful aroma and nutrients of chocolate. Start out with a chocolate mineral foot soak, followed with a chocolate scrub, chocolate mousse mask, and lastly a massage with chocolate butter cream. Let your feet live a little!

For the ultimate chocoholic, we are offering the Chocolate Body Wrap. Immerse your entire body in this fragrant and extravagant scrub that has been shown to have a slimming effect on the body. We follow the scrub with a gentle chocolate mask and cocoa body cream application.

We want everyone to get a chance to experience our chocolate services, so we are also offering a seasonal chocolate add-on. This add-on service can be booked like any other add-on, and adds 10 minutes to the total service time. With the holidays quickly approaching, holiday shopping is beginning. For most people, this means stressing to find the right gift, frantically searching for deals, and long lines at the checkout counter. Don’t worry about that this year, though, because The Spa makes holiday gift buying simple. We offer multiple options for those looking to give the perfect gift:

First of all, we offer gift cards. Gift cards to The Spa can be purchased at the front desk seven days a week, and can be of any value. Whether the person you’re buying the gift card for has never been in or is a regular client, they will appreciate the gift and the simple-yet-elegant envelope and display fold it comes in. The gift card may be used for any service, towards the Half Off Club, towards products, and for Happy Hours, so anyone can find a use for one. Best of all, gift cards never expire, so there’s no worry about racing in to use the card.

Secondly, we offer online gift certificates. They may be purchased for a dollar amount like the gift cards, or they may be purchased for a specific service or package. This is the perfect option for sending a gift to someone far away, as it can be emailed to the recipient remotely. Gift certificates can be used for anything a gift card can be used for, and also don’t expire. If the recipient wants to change the service that it was purchased for, they may convert the certificate to a dollar amount, so there is never any worry about getting the wrong service. If you would like to surprise someone, the card or certificate can be forgone completely and you may simply book a service or package for another person. Once a service is booked this way, the time and date are set, but if for any reason the appointment needs to be changed or cancelled, that is fine as long as it is changed or cancelled at least 24 hours ahead of time.

Finally, for those who truly wish to go all-out, we offer private parties. Parties may be booked for 4 to 16 people, and are an opportunity to not only treat others, but yourself as well. During private parties, we shut down The Spa for you and your guests, allowing you total relaxation and a perfect escape from the outside world. The music switches from our play list to yours, as we can put on whatever style of music you wish, or simply play tunes straight from your own iPod or mp3 player. Unlimited Services are back!

This holiday season, The Spa is bringing back, by popular demand, our Unlimited Service Package. Once again, there are only a limited number of packages available, so if you do want to purchase an Unlimited Package, it is best to act quickly. The package will be $175 for Half Off Club members and $275 for non Half Off Club members, and may be purchased as a gift; when purchased as a gift the price will be based on the recipient’s status as a member. At the time of purchase, you must select a time period in which the package will be active. The time periods are as follows:

November 14 to November 28
November 21 to December 4
November 28 to December 11
December 5 to December 18
December 12 to December 24

Please be aware that there will be an 18% gratuity charged for each service, and there is a limit of 21 services per package. Yes we know it’s not quite unlimited anymore, but we wanted to keep the same name!

“But I Thought All Massages Were Therapeutic?” – A Guide to Choosing a Massage

Here at The Spa, we offer five main types of massage. While all share some elements key to all massages (for example, each massage does have therapeutic benefits, although only one massage bears the name “deep tissue therapeutic”), each one is unique and designed with a different purpose in mind. When choosing a massage, it is best to think about what you want out of the experience overall and not worry about the details, as the massage therapist can take any specific requests into account in order to tailor the massage to exactly your tastes.

Without further ado, the five types of massages:

Swedish Massage - Also known as a “classic massage”, the Swedish massage is a relaxing type of massage which uses five long, flowing strokes to deliver a relaxing and stress-relieving massage. Swedish massage is very good for circulation and joint pain, and is often the choice of those who wish to simply relax and enjoy their time.

Deep Tissue Therapeutic - This massage is sometimes called by a diminutive name, such as “deep therapeutic” or simply “deep tissue” or “therapeutic massage.” This is definitely the massage of choice of many athletes and others who experience muscle pains often. The deep tissue therapeutic massage focuses on relieving muscle tension not only at the deeper levels, but also on the surface. The deep tissue therapeutic massage also includes a bit of assisted stretching at the end in order to increase oxygen supplies in the muscles after the massage. Oftentimes, those who receive a therapeutic massage will feel slight muscle aches for a couple days after the service, but this is normal and subsides quickly, leaving muscles feeling invigorated afterwards.

Aromatherapy - The aromatherapy massage is similar in many ways to the Swedish massage in that it is focused around relaxation and slower kneads, although the strokes are slightly shorter than in the Swedish. The real difference, however, is in the aromatherapy massage’s use of extracts and essential oils to aid in the efficacy of the massage. Choose between a stress relief and energizing aromatherapy massage, and your therapist will choose the aromatherapy blend that matches your needs.

Hot River Stone Massage - The hot river stone massage is more or less exactly what the name says, it’s a massage that also utilizes smooth stones which have been cleaned thoroughly and then heated in a tub of hot water. The stones are then used not in the way that some would expect, rather than being used as a tool for kneading, the stones are placed on your body in places where the heat promotes circulation. The stones are at various times moved about, and as they are moved across your body, the heat and slight pressure provides for a very relaxing sensation.

Mommy-to-Be Massage - The Mommy-to-Be Massage, also commonly called a prenatal massage, is probably the only “exclusive” massage in that it’s the only massage that only certain people are eligible for. The certain people, in this case, are expectant mothers. Mommies-to-be that are past the first trimester (during the first trimester all massage should be avoided) are able to get the mommy-to-be massage, thanks to our prenatal pillow. This specially designed pillow allows an expectant mother to lie on her front while simultaneously relieving pressure on her back. Carrying a baby on your belly is no easy task, so expectant mothers, don’t be afraid to relax for a bit and reward all your hard work with a mommy-to-be massage!

Couples’ Massages - All our massages are available as couple’s treatment. It is even possible to do a couple’s massage in which the two participants get different types of massages (This works well for mommy-to-be massages!). To book a couple’s massage, simply call in and book the way you would any other massage, but mention that you want to do a couple’s massage. We will find availability for you and get your appointment set up just as simply as a single-person massage.
